A Member of the European Academy of Sciences Visits DFLL

On the morning of October 25, Theo D'haen, a member of the European Academy of Sciences, ex-president of the International Federation for Modern Languages and Literatures, and chair professor of English and comparative literature at the University of Leuven, Belgium, visited the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, and made a talk entitled “Postmodernism in the Age of World Literature.” Professor Wang Ning from DFLL hosted the lecture.

On the afternoon of the 26th, Theo D'haen gave a speech at Tsinghua University Summit Lecture in Humanities entitled “European Literature and World Literature,” in which he explored the origin of the term “world literature” and analyzed the link between European literature and world literature.
