Symposium on Transnational American Studies Held at Tsinghua

From June 7th to 9th, the first Symposium on “Transnational American Studies: Theory and Practice” was held at Tsinghua Science Park. Shelley Fisher Fishkin, Joseph S. Atha Professor of Humanities and Professor of English at Stanford, Director of Stanford’s American Studies Program delivered a keynote speech. Professor Wang Ning, Director of Center for Comparative Literature in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, Tsinghua University, also delivered a keynote speech. This is the first attempt made by scholars from China and the US to integrate American Studies and American Literature Studies.
