Opening Ceremony for Tsinghua University’s Center for Chinese Entrepreneurs Studies
The Opening Ceremony for Tsinghua University’s Center for Chinese Entrepreneurs Studies and a Summit Forum “Chinese Entrepreneurs and China” were successfully held in the Reception Hall of Main Building in Tsinghua on June 5, 2011.
Ren Qiliang, Vice Director of Overseas Chinese Affairs of the State Council, Lin Jun, Chairman of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Xie Weihe, Vice President of Tsinghua University, Tang Mingzhe, Vice President of National Taiwan University, QianYingyi, Dean of the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua, Gao Guolun, Chairman of Eternal Chemical Co.,Ltd, and Xu Tao, Vice President of VIA Technologies, Inc. were present at the ceremony and made speeches respectively. Huang Mengfu, Vice President of CPPCC and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, also attended the ceremony and addressed the audience with a speech entitled “Features and Contributions of Chinese Entrepreneurs”, in which he reviewed the history of Chinese entrepreneurs and the development of China’s economy and looked forward to its further development in the future.
The Center, under the support and cooperation of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, is a high-level exchange platform and research institution for both domestic and overseas Chinese entrepreneurs, aiming at exchanging entrepreneurial experience, bringing together forces for innovation, promoting resource flow, and helping domestic and overseas Chinese entrepreneurs to create a greater material and spiritual wealth for our nation in the future. Professor Long Denggao is the founding director of the Center.
“Chinese Entrepreneurs and China” consisted of two sessions “Chinese Entrepreneurs and China” and “Chinese Entrepreneurs in China,” and several special reports. Participants conducted an extensive discussion concerning the status and functions of Chinese entrepreneurs in the economy of China and the world, their outstanding contributions to the development of China’s economy and the significant roles they have played in the period of China’s economic transformation. Present at the ceremony and the forum were more than 200 entrepreneurs, government officials and community leaders.
