Institute for Ethics and Religions Studies of Tsinghua University Held Its First Conference

On June 2, Institute for Ethics and Religions Studies of Tsinghua University held its first academic conference “Gender and Philosophy” in the School of Humanities. Scholars from the United States, Israel, Iceland, and China had discussions on many topics related to the theme, including the meaning and objectives of philosophical research on gender in our time; how to treat the Western and Eastern traditional philosophy and culture from the perspective of gender; how to excavate and recognize women’s contribution to philosophy; how to conduct gender analysis on contemporary philosophies and social issues. Professor Wan Junren, Dean of School of Humanities, Professors Daniel Bell and Xiao Wei from the Department of Philosophy chaired the panel sessions.
