“Humanities and Social Sciences, Globalization, and China” Held at Tsinghua University

Co-sponsored by Tsinghua University and the Academia Europaea, the international forum “Humanities and Social Sciences, Globalization, and China” was held at Tsinghua University from 15th to 17th May. The forum was hosted by Professor Wang Ning, the Changjiang Distinguished Professor and a foreign member of the Academia Europaea, from the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures of Tsinghua University. The attendants included 15 members of the Academia Europaea from all over Europe, as well as more than 50 scholars from the United States, Republic of Korea, and China. Professor Yuan Si, vice president of Tsinghua, Erik de Corte, representative for the Academia Europaea, Geoffrey Harpham, director of US National Humanities Center addressed the forum. On behalf of respectively scholars from Europe, China and the US, Theo D’haen, the executive member of the Academia Europaea, Professors Wang Ning and Geoffrey Harpham delivered keynote speeches.
